Kali Gandaki River Journey

Length: 8 days      Level: Gentle.     Suitable: Beginners & families.
Option: Combine with a white water kayaking course.

Paddle one of the holiest river in the Himalayas - an unforgettable river expedition in gentle class II/III white water, through beautiful scenery and local villages. We are fully self supported, with the gear raft is carrying all our food, camping gear and necessaries for the trip - leaving nothing but our footprints by this gorgeous river.

DAY 1: Arrive to the Royal Beach Camp and get settled. Meet with the team, pack and prepare for the expedition. We do a warm up paddle on the Trisuli river and have our pre-departure meeting in the evening over dinner. Overnight in safari tent or bamboo hut by the river.

DAY 2: Early morning start. We drive to the put-in on Kali Gandaki and start our river journey by setting up our first camp by the river.

DAY 3 - 6: While paddling 140 km down the river we watch as the landscape changes from gorges, and jungles to lush rice paddies. We wave to local children playing by the riverside or locals waiting patiently to catch fish. All the while monkeys and egrets watch curiously over us.

This river is perfect for the first time paddlers and can also be a great opportunity if you want to learn kayaking or try SUP.

We paddle all day, stop only for lunch along the way. We camp on the white sandy river beaches and in the evenings we sit by the campfire watching the stars in the clear night sky.

DAY 7: The last day of our amazing river journey. We are now in the Nepali lowlands, home to rhino, tiger and wild elephants. We paddle to the take out in Devghat. Here we visit the sacred temples and show our respect to the river gods that kept us safe during our journey.

We drive back to The Royal Beach Camp and celebrate our achievements over dinner!

DAY 8: After breakfast it's time to say goodbye to the team and departure to your next destination.
