This
is the trip for paddlers who want to experience Nepal by kayak!
This two weeks epic paddling expedition takes place on the holiest
river of Nepal - Kali Gandaki, named after the godess Kali. The
trip is guided by some of the best paddlers in the country. As no
previous white water kayaking experince is needed for this
trip we start with a riverrunning introduction at the Royal Beach
Camp on the Trisuli river. There we enjoy the nice camp and stay
in bamboo beach huts.
We then move on to Pokhara - with breathtaking views of the over
8000 meter surrounding Himalayan peaks before setting out on our
six day river journey down the Kali Gandaki. We paddle and enjoy
nature, stunning views and the hospitality of the people living
in this seldom visited part of Nepal. Once on the rivers we are
completely self-supported, We camp on the riverbank.
After
conquering Kali Gandaki and covering 140 km by kayak we head towards
the Chitwan National Park, the home of 420 different specious of
birds, one-horn rhinos, crocodiles, wild elephants, barking dears
and Bengal tigers. We get a chance to bath with elephants and visiting
Tharu villages and see their traditional dances before we head back
to the historical city of Kathmandu for sightseeing and shopping.

| Day
1: |
Arrive in Kathmandu, the gateway to any true Himalayan adventure.
Transfer to your hotel. In the evening we gather for pre-departure
meeting. Your trip leader will brief you about the trip and
preparation. |
| Day
2: |
Early morning drive to Royal Beach Camp on the Trisuli river.
We get fitted into our white water kayaks. In the afternoon
your instructor will take you through an introduction to white
water kayaking and we paddle to get used to our boats and gear.
In the late afternoon you can then enjoy our beautiful beach,
play beachvollyball or just relax in our lounge. At sunset the
bar serves drinks and a bit later we serve a nice dinner. Sleep
in the comfort of your beautiful, simple thatched roofed bamboo
hut. |

3: |
Kayak
the Trisuli river class II /III rapids, this is a great introduction
to paddling white water, we go through basic rescue and paddle
techniques and practise communication on the river. Overnight
at Royal Beach Camp. |

4: |
After
breakfast you get equipped for going canyoning. We walk 1½
hours to the Change canyon through small local villages and
past farming land. After reaching the top of the hill we enter
the canyon. Now it is only one way out! We absail down a series
of bigger waterfalls and jump and slide in the smaller once.

5: |
Drive
to Pokhara. Nepals second largest city. From here you have fatastic
views of some of the 8000 m. peaks including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna
and Machapuchre, known as fishtail mountain, and many others.
We stay at a nice familyrunned hotel. In the afternoon there
is time to explore Pokhara, go Paragliding or just chill out
at the lake side. |

6: |
Today we leave for our river journey! We drive to the put-in
on Kali Gandaki and starts our river journey. The journey is
six days in class II/III easy white water, covering 140 km.
We have the raft to support us, carrying all our food, camping
gear and all necessaries for the trip. There is no place to
resupply so we bring everything that we need with us. |
| Day
7-10: |
Kayak down the holiest river in Himalayas. We visit the curious
local people and learn more about their culture and life style.
We paddle all day, stop for lunch and then camp on the white
sandy beaches at night. We are on expedition, so everyone helps
loading and unloading the raft and setting camp. At night enjoy
the campfire and shooting stars with rum punch. |

11: |
Kayak to the take out in Devghat. Here we visit the sacred temples
and Holy men. One hour drive to the gateway to Chitwan National
Park. We get commfortable at our Jungle Safari lodge and check
out the riverside Jungle pub for sunset drinks. |

12: |
We are in Chitwan National Park! The Chitwan National Park has
been enlisted in natural World Heritage Site. It has a particularly
rich flora and fauna. One of the last populations of single-horned
Asiatic rhinoceros and wild elephants lives in the park, which
is also one of the last refuges of the Bengal tiger. Today we
go for Safari including jungle walk, elephant ride and bath
with elephants. In the evening we visit a Tharu village, the
people of the Chitwan district, and experience a culture dance
program. |

13: |
Drive
to Kathmandu. In the afternoon there is time for some shopping
or visiting the Kathmandu temples or the historic Durbar Square.
We gather for a farewell dinner at Roadhouse Cafe. Overnight
at hotel. |

Departure
from Kathmandu. Transfer to airport. |

Some
kayaking experience is recommended. No previous white water experince
needed. |
| Instructors
/ guides: |
Professional kayak instructors / guides of the Himalayan Extreme Sports
Institute with many years experience of teaching courses and guided
rivers is leading the trip. Our guides and instructors are SRT- KRT-
and BCU-certified and have thorough river rescue qualifications. The
institute also train kayak instructors and raft guides which means
that on most trips we have kayakers in training acting as assistant
guides on the river. The trainees are good paddlers and provide extra
security. |

Maximum
16 paddlers on each expedition. A few non kayaker can come on the
raft. |
| Included: |
All river gear: kayak, paddle, life vest, paddle jacket, helmet, first
aid kit and other essential gear. Privat transportation, all accommodation,
all meals (except dinners out in Kathmandu and Pokhara). |

included: |
Travel
insurance, emergency evacuation, drinks and meals out in the towns
and tips. International flight to and from Kathmandu. |
| What
to bring: |
Sleeping
bag, mattress and flashlight. A set of warm cloths for the evenings.
Shorts and warm fleece, teva- sandal or river shoes for the day. Sunglasses,
hat, sun protection, mosquito repellant, personal toiletries and medications. |
